Renewal and continuing education in Wyoming
Wyoming RNs renew every two years, in even-numbered years, with the renewal window opening October 1 and closing December 31 through the Nurse Portal. All RNs share the same cycle regardless of when they were first licensed. The Wyoming State Board of Nursing tracks continuing education through CE Broker, but the board does not specify a required number of CE hours for renewal. The board also does not state what happens to a license that lapses without renewal.

Moving to Wyoming: endorsement and temporary permits
Wyoming is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact, so a registered nurse who holds a multistate license from another compact state can practice in Wyoming on that license without applying for a new one. Nurses coming from a non-compact state, or those without a multistate license, need to apply for a Wyoming license by endorsement instead.
Endorsement applicants pay $135 and must verify their license through Nursys, or through the board's own verification form if their current state does not participate in Nursys. Wyoming also requires a fingerprint-based criminal background check as part of the endorsement process. A temporary permit is available while the application is pending.
