You can read everything on Medical Career Center without an account. We measure visits in aggregate, store account details only if you sign up, and never sell personal information.

Information collected when you read the site
We use a web analytics service to understand how the site is used in aggregate, such as which pages are read most. It sets analytics cookies that last up to 400 days and receives information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, the pages you view, and the page that referred you.
The site is delivered through a content delivery and security network, which processes technical request data, including IP addresses, to serve pages quickly and to block abusive or automated traffic. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs for the same purposes.
Information collected if you create an account
If you register, the site stores your name, email address, and your password in hashed form (the password itself is never stored). Signing in sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, plus short-lived cookies that protect the sign-in form.
Account holders can build resumes, save jobs, and apply to job listings. The site stores that content so you can use it. If you apply to a job, your application and the resume you attach are shared with the employer that posted the listing.
If you buy a report or subscription, payment is handled by our payment processor, which receives your card details and billing address; the site stores only a record of the purchase and its status, never your card number. Paid tools store what you enter into them, such as license expiry dates and continuing education hours in the license tracker, or staff names and training records in the in-service ledger, so the tool can work for you.
If you send a question to a training program through its verified listing, your name, email address, phone number (if given) and question are sent to that program so it can reply to you, and a copy is kept in the program’s listing account.
Resume suggestions
If you are signed in and ask the resume builder for suggestions, the text you submit is processed by a service provider to generate them. Leave out anything you would not want a service provider to process.
If you email the site, the message and your address are kept to answer you and, for corrections, to keep a record of what was changed.
Who information is shared with
Information is shared only with the service providers that run the site (analytics, email, payments, content delivery and security, hosting, and the resume suggestion feature); when you apply to a job, with the employer you apply to; and when you send a question to a training program, with that program. It may also be disclosed if the law requires it.
The site does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. No advertising runs on the site at present; if that changes, this page will describe the ad networks and their cookies before they are added.
How long information is kept
Account information and resumes are kept until you delete your account or ask for deletion. Analytics data is kept for the analytics service's configured retention period and then deleted. Emails are kept for as long as needed to answer them and to keep the corrections record.
Your choices and rights
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or use a browser setting or add-on that blocks analytics. Blocking cookies does not stop you from reading the site; signing in requires the session cookie.
To see the information the site holds about you, correct it, get a copy, or have your account and its content deleted, email [email protected]. These requests are honored for every user, including residents of states such as California, Colorado, Virginia, and Connecticut that give these rights by law. You will not be treated differently for making a request.
Children
The site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. Accounts are not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, email [email protected] and it will be deleted.
Security
Pages are served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to the database is restricted. No system is completely secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, affected users will be notified as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
